LOGO / IDENTITY SYSTEM
BUSINESS, PERSONAL BRANDING
This logo symbolizes Aaliyah Sansone’s methods of photography: digital and film. There are two different common ways of how pictures are stored after they have been taken, on SD cards and film. When a picture is taken, it’s stored usually on an SD card when using a digital camera. When taking a picture with a film camera, it’s stored on a negative/film strip.
The lettermark is similar to a sticker on an SD card or a developed film negative. The lettermark was also designed to pair with the shape of the SD/film strip frame design. The seven sprocket holes on each side are to symbolize the seven letters in both Aaliyah’s first and last name to make it more personal. The seven sprocket holes on the top are also meant to be interpreted as the pins/pads that are seen on the back of an SD card that allows the SD card to communicate with the device that it is inserted into, such as a camera.

The choice of making the lettermark red was made by Aaliyah because she said in
our meeting that she identifies with red.
